We have had some confusion regarding third party checks in excess of daily cash limit requested by members as it relates to our daily cash fee.  As you can see from the Q&A below, we will not charge for checks in excess of our daily cash limit.  We do this so as to not put staff in the position of having to have a difficult discussion with the member about not being able to provide large amounts of cash while charging a fee for a check.  Keep in mind that this does not affect the cashier’s check fee of 1% of the amount of cash you are giving. 

Do we charge a teller check fee if the check is made payable the member? We do not charge a fee for teller checks if the check is payable to the member. Checks payable to a third party are subject to a $5.00 fee unless the amount is more than our daily cash limit.
