Changing member information on Ascensus
Most personal member information can be updated on Ascensus with the help of the Change Notice.
If you go to IRA Direct/Forms/Change Notice, pick you IRA type and hit next. (If they have more than one IRA make sure to make the changes for both!) You can update, or correct, their name, address, SS#, DOB, Acct # and Acct Status. This is how you would reopen an IRA that was previously closed. It is how you would change that account number if you had to move the IRA for fraud reasons.
Just fill in whatever information needs changing and leave the rest and hit next.
IF you need to change a member’s beneficiaries you will need to us the Beneficiary Designation/Change form. This form overrides whatever was previously set up so you will need to re-enter all of the beneficiary information.
If you are working on their RMD withdrawal information you will use the Post 70 ½ Periodic Payment, this is for the initial set up. If you want to change their amounts, dates etc. use the Traditional IRA Periodic Payment Change. Once again you will only change what is changing for the member.
