What are the procedures when we receive a towed vehicle notice?

Towed Vehicle Notice 

  •    Look to see if we have the loan
    • If you do not find a loan on the system or the loan has been paid off, shred the notice and we are done

    • If there is still a balance on the loan….

  • Call to tow company to see if the car is still there

    • If it has been picked up, shred the notice and we are done

    • If it is still there, ask some questions:

      • Why was it towed?

      • If it was in an accident, have they heard from the insurance company? Are they coming to get it?

      • If it wasn’t in an accident, has the member called to schedule a pick-up?

      • Do they have any info that we would need to know?

    • If there is no plan for someone to pick it up, refer to your manager

  • Manager will call member

    • Ask them if there is a plan to get the car

      • If they have none, let them know you will refer it on to the loan department and we’ll be back in touch (that means Julia or Tom)

      • If they have a plan, make a note on the account and let Julia know so it can be tracked

      • If you can’t get a hold of them, let Julia know so she can track it and pick the car up if needed
