Debit Card Limit Increase:
- Complete Debit Card Modification Form
- Have member sign and initial if in person. If over the phone, other verification must be completed as indicated on the form.
- Send Backoffice task with completed form attached.
- If over the phone, make sure to review with the member the risks associated with opening a card for purchase beyond our default limits and check the appropriate boxes on the DC Mod form.
- If the member has a credit card, offer to put the credit card in a credit balance and have them use that to make the purchase to avoid needing the form. (basically, overpay the credit card)
Foreign Travel:
- Complete Debit Card Modification Form, ALL countries they will be visiting must be listed. Verify if they have a credit card and if so, complete the Credit Card International Authorization as well.
- Have member sign and initial if in person. If over the phone, other verification must be completed as indicated on the form.
- Send Backoffice task with completed form attached. If the member managed to leave the country without opening their card, follow your task up with a phone call to Taylor, Alex, Joe or Miranda in order to have that card opened immediately.
Domestic Travel: Members are not required to notify us but if it is mentioned in conversation:
- Place a flag on the members account with the state(s) they will be visiting and the dates they will be traveling.
- Set expiration date on Flag for the day after the members will be returning to their home State.
- Verify that the member's cell (mobile) number is listed under Alt Communication in CUnify
- Have a conversation with the member in regards to Text Messages being sent to them for possible fraud. Let them know that the card system will see "NON TYPICAL" transaction use and flag it as needing verification from the member. If they do not reply them the card may be shut down for their protection.
Helpful tips to share with members:
If a member does a P.I.N based transaction once they arrive at their destination, it designates them in that state. P.I.N based transactions are considered lower risk and can help to establish their use history.
In addition, if they do a small transaction at the airport for both their departure and arrival it can help to establish this use history as well.
