As many of you know, we hired a company to test our IT Security and they attempted to compromise our systems. As part of that process and our effort to address any concerns that were discovered we found that we needed to reiterate our password storage policy.

Going Forward all passwords for credit union related systems must be stored in your Outlook Notes which provides password protected storage.

The layout for the password storage should be as follows in order for the notes used for password storage to be sorted together when looking at the screen.

Please note that the first line of the note will display as the header when viewing the list of notes under outlook.

Our internal audit program will review the password storage process during branch or departmental reviews. Use of the outlook note feature for password storage is not optional.  All other password storage options are to be destroyed unless specifically approved by senior management.
